Position Title: Vice Principal, Grade 6-8

Immediate Supervisor: Principal

Expected Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000 BOE

The Vice Principal works with the Principal to support oversight of all aspects of school life in Grades 6-8, taking responsibility for providing direction and guidance for teachers and staff. The Vice Principal engages with students, families and faculty to create a warm and vibrant school community.

The core responsibility of this role is to supervise teachers on pedagogic approaches, curriculum development and student engagement, in order to maximize student success. In close coordination with the Dean of Academic Development, the structure of the Leo Baeck curriculum is a unique blend of Ontario Ministry expectations and the International Baccalaureate (IB)’s MYP Programme. Familiarity with both is an important asset.

The Middle School Vice Principal is directly responsible for overseeing all aspects of Middle School life, including schedules, extra-curricular activities and co-curricular excursions. The Vice Principal works closely with the Dean of Student Services to support positive behaviour and engagement among the student body, including reinforcement of appropriate behaviour expectations among all students.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in public and/or private education, including in leadership roles.

Position Title: Dean of Academic Development & IB Coordinator

Immediate Supervisor: Principal

Expected Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000 BOE

This is the key administrator responsible for oversight and curriculum development in The Leo Baeck Day School's unique educational environment. The Dean of Academic Development & IB Coordinator will lead our International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, including responding to the feedback from the IB review to be completed in Spring 2026. This position involves the development and implementation of our cutting-edge pedagogy and approaches across the curriculum. This individual provides support and guidance to teachers, administrators, students and parents in all aspects of the school’s curriculum and serves as the key liaison with the IBO.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Extensive experience with the International Baccalaureate MYP and PYP Programmes
  • Inspirational pedagogue with proven leadership experience, ideally in an IB school environment
  • Knowledgeable in Reform Judaism would be considered an asset

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teacher Supervision and Support

  • Oversee the training and supervision of all teachers at the school.
  • Craft, deliver and assess the Professional Development process on individual and group levels.
  • Read, edit, and revise the curriculum scope and sequences by subject in conjunction with the subject teachers.
  • Design and collaborate on the creation of unit planners, including new units of study.
  • Research and share resources for teachers.
  • Model use of new resources and approaches in classrooms.
  • Participate in the teacher evaluation process
  • Oversee and monitor use of Toddle for accuracy and IB compliance.
  • Ensure accurate and innovative assessment practices for evaluation purposes.

Communications:

  • Oversee the process and messaging for all academic communications.
  • Support teachers for the presentation of accurate and meaningful Report Cards.
  • Support moderated marking and reporting among grade partners.

International Baccalaureate Programme:

  • Serve as the key liaison to the International Baccalaureate Organization to ensure compliance.
  • Educate our teachers and parents about the key elements of the IB Programme.

Advancement Coordinator

Position Title: Advancement Coordinator

Position Summary

The Advancement Coordinator plays a key role in supporting fundraising initiatives and donor engagement, through targeted communications, special events and data management and reporting. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to nurture the school’s culture of philanthropy.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Donor Relations

  • Assist in managing all fundraising initiatives.
  • Maintain donor databases, track contributions, and generate reports.
  • Process donations and prepare tax receipts and acknowledgment letters in a timely manner.
  • Support donor stewardship efforts, including outreach and recognition activities.

Event Planning & Coordination

  • Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising events, including community engagement events.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including invitations, sponsorships, vendor relations, and volunteer management.
  • Provide on-site support at events to ensure smooth operations.

Communications & Marketing Support

  • Assist in creating fundraising materials, donor newsletters, and other content related to development efforts
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and branding in development communications.
  • Help maintain the fundraising section of the school’s website.

Administrative & General Support

  • Be the key staff member to maintain the CRM and perform all tracking and reconciliations with the accounting department
  • Coordinate alumni outreach and engagement efforts.
  • Support the Director of Institutional Advancement with scheduling, research, and other tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., communications, nonprofit management, education, business) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in fundraising, development, event planning, or a related field (experience in an independent school or nonprofit setting preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in donor database management (e.g., DonorPerfect) and Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite.
  • Familiarity with email marketing tools (e.g. MailChimp) and design platforms (e.g. Canva) is considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative, positive attitude and a commitment to the school’s mission.

The program runs on school days from 3:30pm to 6:00pm.
