With so many educational apps and gaming sites, finding the best ones for your child can feel overwhelming. On top of that, the digital world is constantly evolving! My go-to resource for navigating this ever-changing landscape is Common Sense Media. It’s a one-stop shop for expert reviews on apps, games, and more—plus, it offers fantastic parent guides on a wide range of digital topics. Whether you’re looking for age-appropriate recommendations or advice on screen time, you’ll find reliable guidance there.
Here are a few educational apps that I highly recommend. I am linking each to the review page on Common Sense Media:
Khan Academy Kids: An engaging and inviting app covering a wide range of concepts. Recommended for ages 3+.
Kahoot Numbers by Dragonbox: Introduces basic number concepts through interactive games. Recommended for ages 4+.
Marble Math: A fun way to practice various math skills. Recommended for ages 9+, but younger children can also benefit.
Toontastic: Encourages storytelling by letting kids choose scenes, characters, and story types. Recommended for ages 6+.
Starfall Learn to Read: Helps children reinforce vowel sounds through interactive mini-books. Recommended for ages 4+.
Scratch Jr: A playful introduction to block coding, allowing kids to create scenes and animations. Recommended for ages 5+.
