Middle School
Grades 6, 7, and 8 make up our Middle School, which is timetabled on a modified rotary basis, i.e. students receive instruction from subject specialists who are able to guide them in the application of the skills and knowledge they acquired in the lower grades. The core subjects include: English Language Arts, Hebrew Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Humanities, French, Physical Education, Art and Drama. The Humanities and Technology courses are new this year, combining the best of IB pedagogy with Ontario Ministry expectations in Social Studies and Technology through a uniquely Reform Jewish lens.

In addition to the core subjects, the Middle School curriculum features Health and Family Life Education offered by Jewish Family and Child Services. A Guidance program is also included in the Middle School curriculum.
Our Middle School program is enriched by the following: co-curricular activities, community involvement, visitors with expertise, out-of-school programs, overnight trips, and the celebration of holy days including Kabbalat Shabbat and Rosh Chodesh. The Middle School elects its own Student Council which gives students opportunities for leadership and plans special programs. Our popular "Buddy Program" enables a Grade 6 student to partner with a Senior Kindergarten student for a year-long classroom adventure in learning and activity together, guided by their teachers.
All of our Middle School subjects are based on Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum guidelines so that our graduates are prepared for admission to a variety of private and public schools.
