The South Campus of The Leo Baeck Day School is located in midtown Toronto and is housed in the Holy Blossom Temple. Our unique programme, that combines the ideals of Reform Judaism with the global perspective of the International Baccalaureate, starts at Senior Kindergarten and continues to the end of Grade 8.
One of the benefits of our campus being in the Temple is that students and parents can interact personally with the rabbis, cantor and lay leaders who are role models for living a liberal Jewish life.
The South Campus is the home of the SCOPE (South Campus Offsite Physical Enhancement) Program, which takes our middle school students off site to professionally led programs in such activities as gymnastics, lacrosse and ultimate frisbee. We are very pleased that our Grade 5 students will continue working with Project Giveback this year after a successful pilot project in 2008-2009. Our Middle School student council is also reaching out into the world through its involvement with Free the Children.
This is my first year at Leo Baeck, and I have extensive experience in the secular independent school community. Prior to joining Leo Baeck, I served as Head of the Upper School and then as JK-12 Principal at Fieldstone Day School. Our administrative staff includes:
Pauline Landen, Dean of Student Services
Desmond Bender, Dean of Academic Development
Deborah Epstein-Franks, Middle School Coordinator
Miriam Glaser, Hebrew Coordinator
Rochelle Chester, Lead Teacher-Librarian
Our campus offers students and families a wonderful opportunity to become part of The Leo Baeck Day School community, feel free to come for a visit!
