Message from the Director of Admission

As the Director of Admission at The Leo Baeck Day School, I’d like to welcome you to our site and thank you for your interest in our school.

The Leo Baeck Day School is a Reform Jewish day school and an International Baccalaureate World School, a designation reflected in our innovative pedagogy. We work to create a child-centred environment where each student's learning style is nurtured and students learn to think critically and make positive choices.

In preschool, children learn to get along with peers while developing early literacy and numeracy. In Grades 1-5, the day is divided into thirds: one third English Language Arts, one third Math, Science and Social Studies, and one third Hebrew/Judaic Studies. Music, Art, Drama, Technology, French and Physical Education are integrated, providing an enriched learning experience. Our Middle School, comprising Grades 6 to 8, includes an advisor program, block scheduling and opportunities for students to practice self-governance and philanthropy. Students participate in our community through service and tzedakah projects along with sports events (in both Jewish and independent school leagues), music groups and celebrations.

I invite you to take a look at our website for more information that will help to make your decision. I also encourage you to come to an Open House or book a private tour of the school, to witness firsthand how a Leo Baeck education can transform your child. And of course, our Admission Office is always here to answer any additional questions you may have.

I look forward to meeting you and introducing you to our school!

B’Shalom,

Robyn Buchman
Director of Admission
