Holy Blossom Campus The Holy Blossom Campus of The Leo Baeck Day School is located in midtown Toronto and is housed in the Holy Blossom Temple. Our program starts at Senior Kindergarten and continues to the end of Grade 8. In June of 2006, our current Grade 8 class will become the first ever graduating class from this campus. This past summer saw continued progress in our program of upgrading our educational space and technology, in order to better accomodate our growing middle school. One of the benefits of our campus being in the Temple is that students and parents can interact personally with the rabbis, cantor and lay leaders who are role models for living a liberal Jewish life. |
In addition to offering an enriched General and Hebrew/Judaic Studies curriculum, we provide many opportunities for our students to learn together with their peers at the Atkinson Campus, including overnight excursions, worship services and social activities under the auspices of the Student Council. In addition, Holy Blossom is the home of the SCOPE (South Campus Offsite Physical Enhancement) Program, which takes our middle school students off site to professionally led programs in such activities as gymnastics, lacrosse and ultimate frisbee. This is my fourth year as Principal of the Holy Blossom Campus and my fifth year at Leo Baeck. I served previously for six years as the Director of Education for Shaarei Beth El Congregation in Oakville. Our administrative staff includes Pauline Landen, Supervisor of Student Services, Naomi Kfir, Hebrew Supervisor, Deborah Epstein-Franks, Middle School Coordinator, Rochelle Chester, Lead Teacher-Librarian and Desmond Bender, Co-ordinator of Program Development. Our campus offers students and families a wonderful opportunity to become part of The Leo Baeck Day School community, feel free to come for a visit! Eric Petersiel, M.A., B. Ed., RJE, Campus Principal |
